A New Week.
We are starting new things this week and getting into a daily routine.
Every day we start class with a quick warm-up and review the days of the week and months.
We started singing a new song called the "Insect Song." The students really liked it.
We worked on the letters x, y, and z and their sounds for our phonics activity today. Then the students read in their reading groups. First I read with one group while the students sat at their desks, practiced their handwriting, and played with vocabulary flash cards. Then the students switched and I read with the other group.
The week we are working on numbers and basic math in English.
The numbers we are working on are 0, 1-20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100.
We are also working on the words plus, minus and equals.
