Bring Books Back

If you have any English reading and library books, you need to bring them back to school this week.

Sunday May 13th

The students have a lot to do this week.  We are still working on the future and past tense, comparatives and superlatives.


The spelling words this week are:
picnic, happy, huge, hungry, bite, mean, treat, hilltop, yummy, afternoon, watermelons, cupcakes, waterfall and something.

Monday, May 7th

We are still working on past and future tense this week and we will be reviewing it the rest of the year.

We read from our books in class and talked about museums and what a museum is.

Our spelling test is going to be Wednesday because there is no English for second grade on Thursday.

Sunday, April 29th

We have a short week.  Our spelling test in on Thursday and the students need to study the words.  They need to study the flashcards too.

In class we are working with comparatives like, "An elephant is bigger than a mouse," or "Omar B. is taller than Ameen."

Tuesday, April 24th

I want to thank my students for giving me a happy birthday.

We did a lot in class today.  We finished reading our stories form the reading books, practiced and spelling, speaking.  We are still working on the past and future tense (ed and will).  The new students in class need to study the flashcards I gave them every night.

Sunday, April 22

This week we are working on past tense, and our crazy words.  We will also work on comparatives.

Tuesday April 17

Keep on studying the spelling. Our test is on Thrusday.

Also study the vocabulary flashcards and our crazy words like eat, sit, stand, go, read, and write.

Sunday April 15

We are still working on past and future tense this week.

We have ten new vocabualry flashcards and ten new spelling words for the students to study this week. We will have our test on Thursday.

Tuesday April 10

We don't have school this Saturday. So now our spelling test is on Thursday.

Students should be studying the spelling and flashcards at home.

We have a lot of new stuff this week.

The students need to practice their flashcards and the spelling.

We are still working with the irregular past tense.

We have a singing competition on Thursday. Each group will being singing Yellow Submarine. Read the words and practice singing with the video.

Bring you calendar, song, and flashcards to class everyday.

We are working with the past and future tenses still this week.

The students have 10 new irregular past tense words we are practicing.

We have a spelling test tomorrow. Students are having a hard time with the words does and beach.

We are still working on irregular past tense words like... ate, ran, wrote, said, sang, and drank.

Wednesday, March 21

We had our spelling test today. I looked over the tests and the students did really well. Some of the students also had a test over the story they are reading.

We still worked on the past tense and the students have done really well with using "ed" with verbs in the past tense.

We will be continuing with the past tense next week.

Monday March 19th

We are still learning the past tense and the students are doing a great job.

We also started a new story, The Rolling Rice Cake.

Our spelling test is on Wednesday.

We are working on the past tense this week, like....

We put ed on the end of the verb.

Welcome back.
